Danish Plant Directorate

 

The Danish Plant Directorate is responsible for the quality and health of agricultural produce and the control of the EU agricultural subsidy schemes.

 

The provisions to ensure quality and health include vegetable products, agricultural production, sales and exports as well as the surrounding environment.

 

A main part of the duties of the Directorate is related to the inspection of companies and farms.

Six regional offices distributed over the country carry out the inspection.

 

The duties of the Danish Plant Directorate can be divided into six main areas: seed and seed corn, feeding stuff and fertilisers, plants and plant health, environmental regulation within agriculture, ecology and EU agricultural subsidy schemes.

 

The Directorate regularly publishes the results of inspection and analysis, for instance from the feed inspection.

 

The Danish Plant Directorate has 580 employees.
